A few weekends ago, I had the privilege of teaching a class at my local Whole Foods! Years ago, I used to look at the in-store calendar on their bulletin board and get so excited about the upcoming classes. I wanted to attend every cooking class they offered, so you could imagine how excited I was to get the opportunity to teach my own.

Since my class was in the middle of August, I knew I wanted to share and teach something cool…literally. It was over a hundred degrees that day, so refreshing smoothie bowls were the way to go. I made four different smoothies with fun toppings and superfoods. Everyone in the class got to have their own little decorated sampler bowl. It was great to receive such positive feedback from my foodie creations and see that I’m not the only one to get overly excited about a colorful smoothie bowl garnished with edible flowers.

Having a food blog, I often have people tell me they want to try things I make. Yes, I offer recipes on giannasrecipes.com, but I figured why not offer something nutritiously delicious that’s packaged and ready to go. That’s one reason I started making homemade granola a few months ago and it’s been more of a hit than I anticipated. I actually call it a granola mix because it’s like a cross between a granola and a trail mix. It’s baked with simple ingredients and tossed with golden raisins and yogurt chips. After being able to enjoy it sprinkled on smoothie bowls, everyone in the Whole Foods class came up to purchase their own granola stash to take home. Thumbs up to that!
